An all-new model for 2015, the A3 is built on a high-tensile steel chassis and is offered in 7 variants and 4 body styles. Both engines are mated to the standard 6-speed S tronic® dual-clutch gearbox.

Available is the Audi drive select system which allows the driver to adjust throttle response, shift points, and steering effort by selecting one of four settings — Auto, Dynamic, Comfort, Individual. An aluminum subframe is heart of the A3 chassis platform. Front suspension is a MacPherson strut design with A-arms and aluminum pivot bearings. The four-link rear suspension utilizes a steel crossmember, with springs and shocks mounted separately. Electromechanically assisted steering system operates sensitivity and increases efficiency by reducing mechanical drag. Electronic stability control (ESC) has an electronic differential lock that brakes the inside front wheel very slightly to help minimize understeer and improve traction when driving through curves.
